Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

KO-LAB INC. ("KO-LAB", "we") respects the privacy of visitors to ko-lab.ca. This policy describes what information is collected on this website, why, how it is stored and used, and the rights you have regarding it. It is written in compliance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Information collected

This website does not use any input form in version 1. The only information collected automatically is:

  • Connecting IP address (web-server logs).
  • Date, time, page visited, and browser type (web-server logs).
  • Referring page when applicable.

No third-party tracking cookies are set. No third-party analytics tool is integrated in version 1. If you email us at info@ko-lab.ca, we receive and retain your message along with the email address we need to reply to you.

2. Purposes

Server logs are used to: diagnose technical errors, detect intrusion or fraud attempts, and produce highly aggregated usage statistics (visit volume, most-viewed pages) — without associating those statistics with an identifiable person.

Emails you send us are used to reply to your inquiry, produce a quote, or carry out the mandate you entrust to us.

3. Retention

Server logs are retained for a maximum of 12 months, then destroyed. Business emails are retained as long as the business relationship is active, then for the period required by law (typically 6 years for Canadian tax records).

4. Disclosure to third parties

KO-LAB does not sell or trade your personal information. We may share it:

  • With a web-hosting provider located in Canada or the United States, strictly to the extent needed to operate the site.
  • With a subcontractor involved in executing a mandate (carrier, install partner), with only the information needed.
  • With authorities, if required by law.

5. Your rights

Under Law 25 and PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request its correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous.
  • Request its deletion when the collection purpose is met and no legal requirement obliges us to retain it.
  • Withdraw a previously given consent, going forward.
  • File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@ko-lab.ca indicating the nature of your request. Written reply within a maximum of 30 days.

6. Privacy officer

KO-LAB INC.'s person in charge of protecting personal information can be reached at info@ko-lab.ca. This role is designated pursuant to section 3.1 of Law 25.

7. Updates

This policy may be updated as the site evolves (for example, adding a form, an analytics tool, or a newsletter). The date at the top of this page always indicates the current version.
